Brothers,
The 2020 BBAM kicked off on Thursday 7/9 with several arrivals:
Dave at 8:45pm
Jon at 9pm
Tex at 9:30pm
Paul at 11:45pm
Friday 7/10
After listening to the Busch Brothers spot on Mike McConnell’s show on WLW, Dave, Tex, Paul, Jon, Chad and Steve headed out to Lake James to tour the lake and spent time at the sandbar. The weather was not ideal and we got rained on a couple times but fun was had by all including Steve who has learned to take a nap on top of the water. Later that night there was a short tour of Doc's very impressive house.
Saturday 7/11 - 2020 Official BBAM Day
The final arrivals:
Tony 11:40am
Chad 11:45am
Ed 11:49am
Virtual attendees: Chris, James and Rich
The meeting kicked off at 12:02pm with the opening of the first beer and a social honoring Hutch. Members gathered for the traditional picture in front of the 2020 banner (provided by Heidelberg with special thanks to Tim for designing the banner and to Mike and Paul for getting the banner out of the recycle bin). Prior to the meeting start Tex started by breaking the giant margarita tab collection glass maybe in an attempt to get voted out at the meeting. Spoiler alert. He is still a full member.
The full member meeting started at 12:28pm. Last year's minutes were reviewed and approved. The next topic was the financial health of the organization which remains strong with $369 in the Human Fund, thanks to Paul for his diligent work on his powerpoint of all the stats and tabulation of historical data.
New business was discussed at 12:40pm. An Alexa routine ran ending with Welcome to the Jungle by GNR and started this section of the meeting. Dave Keener of Roscoe, IL was nominated for Associate member after some spirited discussion. Tony was assigned to be Daves mentor to show him the ropes. John Mauldin (Steve's dad) and Ed Horgan (former slumlord to the house next door to the original Busch Mountains) were both approved as honorary members of our esteemed group at 1:04pm.
The following officers were approved (sometimes over their own vigorous protests):
President - Chad
VP - Tony
Treasurer and chief statistician - Paul
Chairman of the Board - Steve
Secretary/Historian - Jon
Grillmaster - James (with Tex as Backup).
These positions shall remain until next year’s meeting whereas more positions may be created if needed.
Next topic was attempts to vote out dead weight, no one received enough votes to be voted out but future attendance was encouraged to avoid being included in this category.
June 26th was picked as the 2021 date to be held at Steve's house in Ft. Wayne. Shirts and huggies were mementos to be developed for the 30th BBAM. Tex donated $110 to the Human Fund! (Stepping up strong to honor the tradition of Hutch).
Price controls were implemented and passed: all Busch cans will never cost more than .50 to Busch Brothers when at a fellow members house; it was also agreed that any member can stay at monthly rent of $155 for a room at either Steve's or Jon's place.
The final new business was the hope that more Busch Brothers will get involved with Chris in getting rental properties in popular tourist destinations.
The official meeting was adjourned at 2:01pm.
The meeting quickly moved on to the serious drinking portion of the itinerary. We witnessed several amazing unveiling of new additions to the newly crowned Busch House, if you are curious about these items please come and tour the house as often as possible.
Unveiling’s:
1. 6 foot 20 year old wood, store display that holds 18-30 packs of Busch Beer.
2. Laminated and foam boarded original scroll from Corryville Busch House.
3. Enclosed wooden display case eternal flame of historic and or hall of fame cans.
4. Official pop up Busch tent with Busch nascar logos.
To aid in this mass consumption of more Busch Beer, the Euchre tournament kicked off. We paused the game at the halfway mark so we could pack up and go to Floyd's Arcade and Pinball at 5:15pm. After three plus fun-filled (but warm) hours we headed back to Steve's to continue the Euchre tournament and enjoy some good food grilled by Tex. The winners of the Euchre tournament were crowned (see Paul's notes) and more drinking continued. After a crazy evening the meeting wrapped up at the traditional time of 8am Sunday morning.

Mr. Secretary,
BBAM29 is now in the record books. Thanks to all that attended in person and virtually to help celebrate the life of Brother Hutch. Below are my updates for the Annals of Busch Lore:
- 174 Cans on the Wall
- 21.8 beers per man, down from 22.9 beers per man in 2019
- 4 case club members (Chad 30, Jon 28, Paul 27 and Steve 24) down from 7 in 2019
- Strong performance from new associate, Dave with 18, Tex with 18, Tony with 16 and new Honorary, Ed with 13
- We also welcomed a new honorary member, Steve's father John Mauldin. He allowed all this Busch collecting to happen many decades ago.
- Chad won most of the accolades (Beer Drinking Champion, First on the Wall, First to 6, First to 12, First to 24)
- Tex won Pick Your Pony (19) and the Closest to the Pin contests (1). Now he has to come back next year for his prize. It is a beautiful prize.
- Largest donation to the Busch Fund from Tex $110. Thanks Tex for your support
- Steve eclipsed 500 cans drank during the BBAM (3rd behind Chris at 514 and Paul at 632)
- 2 new categories in 2020. 1st to piss on camera via a Zoom call via Mother Russia - James, and 1st to break a glass - Tex (a giant margarita glass before he even had a beer)
- A small 8 man Euchre Tournament was held with Paul winning, Jon 2nd, Tex 3rd and Steve 4th.
- New associate, Dave, was the first to spill a beer.
- Tony was the first to stumble and pass out
- Steve won the first to nap award but woke back up to finish strong and complete his mission
- Zoom call attendees (Chris, James, Rich and Mike)
- A pond swimming competition was not held. We hope to return to this in 2021 with the "Paul Hutchens Falls of Beavercreek Memorial Pond Challenge". Timed Events will have a sign up sheet. Biting the head off a dead bluegill is optional to honor Hutch when you win!
All in all, a great meeting and a good time was had by all. Looking forward to seeing more of you next year at the most electrifying event in sporting history, BBAM30 TM (Jon get that thing trademarked)
Remember, if everything seems under control, you are not drinking enough Busch!
