The Constitution of the Busch Brothers Cincinnati, Ohio Chapter
Preamble We, the original five founding members of the Busch Brothers, in order to represent and protect out interests, to provide for the government of our group, and to promote the general welfare of all members, do establish this constitution for the Busch Brothers.
Article I The Busch Brothers are the official representatives of all the members of our group.
Article II Section 1. Supreme legislative authority shall be vested in the full members. Section 2. All Busch Brothers must maintain a 2.5 GPA while attending school. Section 3. If the minimum GPA is not maintained the member shall face action. The first step shall be a probation period of one year to raise the GPA. The second step will be suspension from the organization until the proper grades are achieved. The final action shall be impeachment by vote according to article VI. Section 4. The Busch Brothers shall consist of the five founding members, all full, associate and honorary members. Section 5. The Busch Brothers shall be elected by all full members. The method of election of each Busch Brother shall be by procedures set by the Busch Brothers full members. Section 6. Nominations for honorary, associate and full members shall be made at an official gathering of the Busch Brothers. Section 7. A majority of the Busch Brothers must be present to constitute quorum for the transaction of all business except amending the constitution which will require all full members to vote. Section 7a. Quorum may be achieved by full members present combined with any proxy votes held by them. Section 7b. A full member may be represented by proxy vote assigned to any other full member on a meeting by meeting basis. Section 7c. If a full member is not present and has not specifically assigned their proxy vote, their proxy vote will belong to the acting President. Section 7d. If the President is not in attendance and has not assigned his proxy vote, his proxy and all others under section 7b will automatically be assigned to the eldest of the five founding members in attendance. Section 8. The Busch Brothers shall govern all associate and full members. Section 9. The Busch Brothers shall have exclusive power to nominate, elect, suspend and expel all members. The Busch Brothers will also have exclusive power to approve or reject proposed changes to the constitution, to conduct meetings, and to enact and enforce all rules of the constitution. Article III Section 1. The following sections will provide guidelines that shall be used in adding new members. Section 2. Busch Brothers shall submit a nomination for a new associate or honorary member to the entire group of full members whenever possible. Section 3. The proper procedure for becoming a Busch Brother shall be as follows: A person may be nominated by no less than two members. A person can be elected as honorary or associate member by no less than two members. However, it is preferable that they be elected at the annual meeting by all members. Proper notice of those being nominated shall be given. This is to allow all members the opportunity to get to know them before voting on them. After being nominated for associate member, a minimum one year waiting period shall be observed before the can be elected to full membership. A unanimous vote is needed by all full members to become a full member. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If an associate member does not receive the proper number of votes they may be re-nominated for full membership no sooner than one year later. Phone/Proxy votes for elections will be allowed during the annual meeting; once again this will not be encouraged. Section 4. Honorary members will hold no voting privileges.
Article IV Section 1. The constitution may be amended by a seventy-five percent vote with consent of all five original members. Section 2. In matters that are voted upon, a tie will be broken by the vote cast by the eldest member of the original five Busch Brothers.
Article V Section 1. The Busch Brothers shall hold at least one meeting a year. Each shall be preceded by a newsletter/email to let the members know the agenda. These meetings should be attended by all members unless reasons beyond your control should arise. Section 2. All members are expected to keep the author of the newsletter/email informed of changing personal information including email address. Section 3. The annual meeting shall be generally in the summer. The summer meeting will be the official annual gathering; no excuse will be good enough to miss this one. The summer meeting will be preceded by a boating excursion whenever possible. The winter meeting theme will be the Capricorn gathering. Section 4. The annual meeting will require a brief period where it will only be full members in attendance. This will allow for debates and elections of new members. All new members will be allowed a time to speak to the full members before a vote. The vote will be confidential and only the numbers for and against may be discussed after the meeting. Section 5. During the annual meetings the members may vote by phone or proxy but only in extreme circumstances.
Article VI Section 1. Impeachment can be used in extreme cases. Section 2. A full member vote must be unanimous for impeachment, excluding the member being impeached. Section 3. An impeachment must be the last resort and the member will be provided an opportunity to defend themselves against the charges.
Article VII Section 1. Busch Beer should be the alcoholic beverage of choice and consumed as a large part of overall consumption of beer done by a member. Section 2. Free alcohol shall not constitute a violation of section 1.
Article VIII Section 1. The only females permitted in this organization shall be as honorary status. These females must be of the highest caliber and have proven their devotion and dedication to Busch Beer and the Busch Brothers.
Article IX Section 1. Busch consumption shall be a priority and life long endeavor. Contribution to the virtual wall is expected of all members. Section 2. The Busch Brothers shall be a group of the highest importance and must always be considered a priority.
