Wrap up to the 16th BBAM held June 7th,
2008 in beautiful Manchester, Ohio at the Rich Lask estate. There were 9
Brothers in attendance that arrived in the following order:
Rich, Paul, Steve, Jon, Bob, Mike, Tony, Jon S., Ted
The meeting was officially started at around 12:16 with a couple brothers
getting a quick start at noon. It was near 90 degrees that day so we mostly
stayed inside until around 6:00 cracking beers, catching up on lost time, and
playing many rounds of euchre.
In the absence of the case club/beer tracking wall we adapted by using a table
with everyone's name taped on the side. The cans were added as in the past.
Consumption was at its lowest level ever at 131 total cans even with strong
showings by Mike(30), Paul(25), and Rich (20) we were not able to live up to our
great heritage. To round out the field Steve(17), Tony (14), Jon W. (11), Jon
S(7), Bob(5), and Ted (2). Rich, Paul, and Steve may have been hampered a bit
due to drinking late in Manchester on Friday (which is a bad excuse). Jon' s
performance of 11 is pretty good considering running a race Saturday morning and
not having much training leading up to the meeting. I am impressed with Jon S.
for getting 7 beers down in such a short time because he got there after dark
and stayed for what seemed like a brief time (although after 9:00 things were a
somewhat blurry). Also, hats off to Ted for refraining from adding too many
more since he had to drive back with Jon S. to Cincinnati.
We did hold a Members Only meeting around 6:00 which was much too late, but we
were short on members. I do not know if it could be called an official meeting
since we only had seven members at the time, but we had to do something so we
met around the drinking table and solved a few problems we just can not remember
what they were. So, we will review the minutes from the members meeting next
year. One thing we did remember was the nomination and vote for our new
President. Please welcome and give words of encouragement to Paul - our new
leader.
To round out the days activities, everyone participated in plenty of consumption
of our favorite beverage, many rounds of euchre, most of us rode the motorcycle
(some of us wrecked on the motorcycle), most of us rode the Quad, most of us did
some Cedar Skiing, and we ignited the bonfire with plenty of fireworks. There
were no injuries that required medial attention, although I was worried after I
saw Jon go over the handlebars on the motorcycle.
